E aí, pessoas! :) O post de hoje vai ser meio que direcionado para o meu último fim de semana, que dediquei para uma viagem a Londres, especialmente para assistir ao show das bandas Of the Wand and the Moon e Rome. O caso é que fiz a decisão imbecil de ir de ônibus, porque é bem mais barato, mas os horários são horríveis e também poucos. Por conta disso, tive que passar mais de 24 horas na cidade e "fazendo hora" em locais públicos, dos quais eu também falarei nesse post. O look tem a ver com isso porque usei essa roupa, incluindo um casaco e uma mochila, no caso... mas enfim! Foi basicamente isso.
Hey guys! :) Today's post will be about my last weekend, which was dedicated to a travel to London, especially to see the bands Of the Wand and the Moon and Rome live. The thing is that I made a really poor decision to go by bus, because it's way cheaper, but the times are horrible and very few. For this reason, I was obligated to spend more than 24 hours in the city, killing time in public spaces that will be mentioned in this post. The outfit has to do with all of this, because I really wore these clothes, including a coat and a backpack... but anyway! It was basically that.
Bom, eu resolvi de última hora que queria ir no primeiro cat café de Londres, o Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium. Na realidade, você precisa fazer reserva e pagar uma taxa de £6 para isso. Por sorte, acabei recebendo poucas horas antes de chegar na cidade de que eu poderia ir lá na parte da tarde. Peguei o metrô, sofri horrores com o excesso de gente e de estações (o mapa é quase uma cartografia de um pesadelo), mas enfim cheguei em cima da hora no local. Eu não sei se foi porque eu estava cansada, mas não consegui aproveitar muito... A maioria dos gatos estava dormindo, porém o atendimento foi ótimo e eu super indico comer um pedaço de bolo red velvet lá. Foi um dos mais deliciosos que já comi na minha vida! E, de qualquer forma, fiquei extremamente feliz porque uma das gatinhas subiu no meu colo e amassou pãozinho. <3
Well, I decided that I wanted to visit the first cat café in London, Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium. But in fact, you need to book a reservation previously and pay a £6 fee for that. Luckily, I received an email few hours before arriving in the city and I was able to go there. I took the underground, suffered a lot with the excess of people and stations (the underground map is almost a cartography of a nightmare), but I finally got there in time. I don't know if I was too tired to enjoy the place really properly or the fact that most of the cats were sleeping... But the service was amazing and I really suggest you to eat their red velvet cake. It was one of the most delicious that I ever ate! Nevertheless, I was very happy that one of the kittens lay on my lap. <3
Desculpa não ter fotos com melhor qualidade, mas eu não levei minha câmera (achei que pudesse ser barrada no show) e meu celular estava com pouca bateria. Mas existe gentileza em Londres e consegui carregar meu celular mesmo no café! Eu até pensei em fotografar meu red velvet com o chá Artemis (Sim! Amei o nome!), que era uma mistura de chá de jasmim (meu novo vício) e água de coco... mas quando eu vi, já era tarde demais! :P Da próxima vez, tentarei fazer uma reserva com antecedência e, se caso for acompanhada, também encomendarei o chá da tarde, que vem naquelas bandejinhas de três andares, com cupcakes e outros salgados. Lindo demais!
Sorry for not having better pictures, but I didn't take my camera (I thought I would have problems on the club) and my phone was dying. However, there's kindness in London and I managed to charge my phone even in the café! I thought about taking a picture of my cake and Artemis iced tea (Yes! I love that name!), which was a combination of jasmine tea (my new addiction) and coconut water... but when I noticed, it was too late! :P Next time I'll try to book a visit way earlier and, in case I go there with someone else, I'll order the high tea for two. They have these typical three-tiered plates that are so cute and full of cupcakes and other snacks. So beautiful!

Eu fiquei um tempão enrolando em um pub perto do clube, porque nem tinha almoçado nada e também porque precisava de uma tomada para carregar meu celular. Foi engraçado, porque tive que sentar numa mesa enorme e depois chegaram umas pessoas que sentaram lá. Eu fiquei super constrangida, mas um dos funcionários falou para eu ficar tranquila, que eu tinha chegado primeiro. Isso é engraçado, porque no Brasil, além de sermos obrigados a consumir algo (especialmente se você vai usar a tomada do lugar hahah), eles não gostam que você se sente num lugar que comporta mais pessoas - por motivos óbvios, aliás. Mesmo assim, eu fiquei meio incomodada e fui embora o quanto antes eu pude.
I spent a real long time on a pub close to the club, because I didn't even have lunch until then and I needed a socket to charge my phone. It was funny, because I needed to sit on a big table, and later some people sit there too. I was very embarrassed for that, but one of the pub's employees just came to me and said I should chill out, because I was there first. This is very funny, because in Brazil we're both "obligated" to consume something (specially if you need to use their electricity hahaha), and they don't like people who sit in tables that would serve for more customers - for obvious reasons,of course. But I was still bothered by that, so I went away as soon as I could.
Uma pena que eu estava já mortíssima de cansaço, mas consegui aproveitar bem os shows. Além das bandas que fui para ver, especificamente, havia ainda dois artistas que abriram o evento - Naevus e Jo Quail. O primeiro era também um cantor de neofolk, mas a segunda foi realmente uma artista que me impressionou. Primeiro que nunca tinha visto um concerto de cello, segundo porque ela faz uma música super diferente e usa loops. Sério mesmo, fiquei passada. A música dela é muito emocionante e a performance é de tirar o fôlego. Em uma das músicas, ela gravou um loop em que conseguiu emular no cello um som de respiração e batidas cardíacas. Incrível! Essa música acima foi uma das minhas preferidas e a que abriu o show. Aliás, era aniversário dela! :) Tinha que ser canceriana mesmo.
It was a shame that I was so tired, but I think I enjoyed the shows anyway. Besides the band I went to see, there were two other artists - Naevus and Jo Quail. The first one was already a neofolk musician, while the second one was someone who really impressed me. First because I had never seen a cello concert, and second because she makes such a unique music and uses loops for that. Seriously, I got astonished. In one of her songs, she recorded a loop that emulated on the cello the sound of breathing and heartbeats. Amazing! This song embedded above was one of my favorite and which opened her show. By the way, it was her birthday! :) She really needed to be a Cancer.
Depois dos shows, ainda rolaria uma discotecagem de música industrial até às 7h30. Eu, na minha ingenuidade, achei que ia aguentar e curtir muito... Porém, estava morta e pensando seriamente em gastar em um hostel - até porque eu só estava ouvindo umas porcarias de gótico dos anos 80. Por acaso, um garoto puxou assunto comigo e me mostrou o outro ambiente, onde estavam tocando industrial. A música, aliás, estava muito boa, mas acabei nem dançando ou nada, porque fiquei conversando literalmente a noite inteira. Tudo bem que as chances de encontrar alguém com um gosto bem parecido com o meu em um show são altas, mas encontrar alguém que gosta de neofolk, post-rock, doomgaze, música eletrônica, filosofia e ficção científica... vai além das expectativas! :) Então consegui aproveitar bem esse tempo que tive que ficar enrolando e ainda passeei um pouco por Londres, na região de Angel e Victoria, aproveitando para comer no Pret a Manger, uma espécie de lanchonete que uma amiga tinha falado bem.
After the gigs, the night club would be hosting some industrial music DJing until 7:30 am. As naive as a person can be, I was pretty sure that I was going to be able to enjoy the party and dance a lot... However, I was dead and really considering going to a hostel - also because I was listening only to 80's goth bullshit. But all of a sudden, some guy just starts to talk with me and shows me the second ambient of the club, where they were playing industrial. The music, by the way, was pretty awesome, but I didn't even dance, because I literally spent my whole night talking with this boy. Ok, the chances of meeting someone who had the same tastes I have in a gig are high, but meeting someone who likes neofolk, post-rock, doomgaze, electronic music, philosophy and science fiction.. that was way beyond any expectations! :) So I had a great time while I was waiting for my bus, on Sunday, and even had a mini tour in London, in the surroundings of Angel and Victoria. I also had lunch in Pret a Manger, some kind of café that a friend had talked about.
E foi isso! :) O melhor de tudo, também, foi ter escolhido uma roupa confortável. Essa camiseta da Dresslink é super versátil e eu estava precisando mesmo de camisetas... só uso camisas e blusinhas hahaha... Devo ser a mais "overdressed" da empresa :P
And that was everything! :) The best thing that I did, in the end, was wearing comfortable clothes. This Dresslink t-shirt is so versatile and I was really in need of some tees... I only wear shirts and blouses hahahah... I must be the most "overdressed" person in my work. :P

E gente... como assim um cat café? Vou querer morar lá dentro... rs
Sobre a questão da mesa, acho que nem teria esperado o celular carregar não, também ficaria super incomodada e constrangida e teria saído logo que os outros sentaram.. é uma sensação horrível, né!?
Sobre o vídeo, adorei a música! Muito boa! Gosto bastante de instrumentais. ^^
Pena que foi tão cansativo, mas se deu pra aproveitar, ta valendo.

Morro de vontade de conhecer Londres (não tanto quanto os EUA, que pretendo conhecer antes da Europa), meu irmão já passou uma temporada por lá e teve várias recordações bacanas. Essa questão da gentileza eu já tinha ouvido falar também, ao contrário de Paris (todo mundo fala mal da galera de lá, vou ter que conhecer para tirar minhas próprias conclusões) aheuaheu
Que bom que todo o cansaço da viagem valeu a pena, você acabou conhecendo uma pessoa compatível com seus gostos, viu a banda que curte, foi a um cat café (que sonhooo), e teve boas histórias pra contar <3.

What a fun trip you had and I was especially interested by the place where you get to chill out with cats, haha. How fun is that - yes, I am such a cat person, I talk to stray cats. Love your all black outfit, by the way! Reading what you wrote about consuming electricity in public places and how it made you uncomfortable tells me you are really a sweet and thoughtful lady :) xo
