É, Brasél... Ano novo e espero que outra reviravolta aconteça na minha vida, viu? Pelo menos eu tive a sorte de poder ver meu namorado novamente, nem que fosse só por cinco dias que ficamos em Londres. Das vezes que fui pra capital, foi sempre na correria e eu acabava ou odiando o lugar ou só passando por stress. Mesmo quando a visitei com a minha mãe, acabei entediada porque fomos aos pontos turísticos mais clichês, tipo Palácio de Buckingham, Big Ben etc... Eu não dou a mínima pra esses lugares. Não estava nem muito interessada na queima de fogos na virada e nem na London Eye, que foi de onde tirei essa foto, porque além de ser cara a entrada, você fica debaixo da chuva (porque tá sempre chovendo), numa fila quilométrica pra ficar num cubículo tirando 500 fotos que provavelmente vão ficar uma bosta por causa do reflexo do vidro HAHA

Hells yea.... It's a new year and I hope I have some news for my life too. At least I was lucky enough to see my boyfriend again, even if it was only for 5 days that we spent in London. The other times I went to the capital, it was all in a rush and I ended up hating the place or just being super stressed. Even when I visited the place with my mom, I felt super bored because we went to the most touristic spots, like Buckingham Palace, Big Ben etc... I don't give a crap about these places. I wasn't even interested in the fireworks for NYE and not even cared much about London Eye, which is where I took this picture. Both because the tickets are expensive and you wait on an endless queue under the rain (because it's always raining), only to get into a cubicle where you'll take 500 pictures that will probably look like shit because of the reflex on the window HAHA

No primeiro dia, chegamos bem cedo em Londres e estávamos bem cansados - pela viagem, trabalho etc... Então aproveitamos para dar um passeio no parque perto do nosso hotel e encontramos um parque de diversões no Green Park, eu acho. Era bem grandinho, cheio de quiosque de comida e até duas casas mal assombradas (essa de cima foi a primeira que vimos). Depois de quase fazer o pé do Matheus explodir ao caminhar até o Soho, paramos para almoçar em um pub e ele experimentou o prato mais típico daqui - fish and chips. Uma desgraça. Eu mesma nunca pedi para mim porque não gosto de fritura, mas o Matheus adora e principalmente batata frita, mas ele achou bem sem graça. Provavelmente não tem a ver com o pub, mas porque os ingleses não entendem muito bem de tempero mesmo...

On the first day, we arrived quite early in London and we were very tired - for the travel, work etc... So we walked on the park close to our hotel and ended up finding an amusement park at Green Park, I guess. It was big enough, full of food tents and even two haunted houses (this one above was the first we saw). After that we walked until Matheus' feet were exploding and we reached Soho. We went to have our lunch on a pub nearby and he tried the most typical dish here - fish and chips. A disgrace. I myself never ordered it to myself, because I don't like fried things, but Matheus loves it, especially chips... however, he didn't particularly like his meal. Not because of the pub, but because English cuisine is not really good with spices...

Como a gente chegou na véspera do ano novo e ia rolar os fogos de artifício lá perto da London Eye, resolvemos descansar pra aguentar a virada... mas só que tava TÃO frio que eu não aguentei esperar até a queima e acabamos perdendo nosso lugar. :( Esse ano eles fecharam e venderam tickets para as áreas especiais, só que tudo se esgotou já em outubro, então não consegui comprar pra gente... Por isso também não tem nenhuma foto do ano novo, mas do dia seguinte, quando voltamos para o parque antes de ir à Exhibition Road, onde se concentram alguns dos principais museus da cidade.

As we arrived in London on NYE and there was going to be fireworks in the London Eye area, we decided to take some rest before waiting for the celebrities... But it was SO cold that I couldn't wait until the fireworks and we ended up losing our place. :( This year they closed some streets and bridges, because they sold tickets for these special areas. They were all sold out in October yet, so I couldn't buy for us... For this same reason I didn't take any pictures of the new year's eve, but from the day after, when we went back to the park before going to Exhibition Road, where some of the main museums are concentrated.

 Albert Memorial

Nessa rua tem o Museu de Ciência, Museu de História Natural e Museu Albert e Victoria. Tentamos ver tudo em um dia, mas chegamos muito tarde e o último é enooooorme. Parece que consideram ser o maior do mundo em reunir artes decorativas e design... Não é para menos. Gastamos quase um dia inteiro só para terminar de ver tudo e não conseguimos. Parecia brincadeira.. Quanto mais a gente andava, mais a gente descobria que não tinha visto alguma coisa. As coleções tentam englobar toda a história humana e não só europeia, mas também japonesa, coreana, chinesa, indiana e árabe. É impressionante. Os caras têm mais de 1 milhão de peças de cerâmica que eu não faço nem ideia de como rolou a curadoria... de tanta bagaça que tem naquele lugar, umas coisas tão esdrúxulas, que nós só conseguíamos pensar que aquilo parecia uma casa de acumuladores ahhahaha...

In this street you will find the Science Museum, Natural History Museum and Albert and Victoria Museum. We tried to see everything in one day, but we got there too late in the day and the latest was sooooo huge. It seems that it is considered the biggest in the world in reuniting decorative art and design... But it makes sense. We spent almost one whole day just to finish seeing it and we couldn't. It was like a joke. The more we walked, the more we found out that we didn't see something yet. The collections try to tell the whole history of humanity, not only the European side, but Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Indian and Arabic. It's impressive. They have more than 1 million pieces of ceramics and I have no idea how the curators worked with that... it has so many things in that place, some really awkward, that we couldn't avoid thinking that the place looked like a horder's house hahah....

 Victoria and Albert Museum

Apesar da diversidade ser enorme, eu acho que gosto mais do Tate ainda. Tipo, tem muitas esculturas e muitas peças arquitetônicas no Victoria and Albert, mas ao mesmo tempo é irritante ver como eles têm coisas do mundo inteiro e como isso foi adquirido... tipo, quando eu fui pra Grécia não tinha quase nada, porque tava tudo aqui na Inglaterra ou em outros museus. Isso me irrita um pouco... eu não quero ir pra um museu inglês ver esculturas gregas ou fachadas que eles pegaram de outro país que eu poderia visitar e vivenciar no local de origem dessas peças. Mas ainda assim o museu é impressionante pelo seu tamanho, o tamanho das peças que eles têm lá (como vocês podem ver nessa panorâmica acima) e também pela diversidade... mas o Tate me chamou mais a atenção porque tinha muitos quadros e eu tenho um apreço maior por quadros mesmo.

Even though this is a very diverse museum, I still like Tate more. I mean, there are lots of sculptures and architectural pieces at Victoria and Albert Museum, but at the same time is irritating to see how they have things from all around the world and how this was acquired... I mean, when I went to Greece, there was almost anything because most of them was in England or in other museums. This makes me a bit annoyed... I don't want to visit an English museum to see Greek sculptures of facades they got from another country that I could visit and see it in its original place. But it's still a very impressive museum for its size, the size of the works in exhibition (as you can see in the picture above) and also for the diversity... But Tate caught more of my attention because it has many paintings and I still like paintings more than anything.
